Preparing children for the future

Key Stages 2 & 3

Key Stage 2 (KS2) and Key Stage 3 (KS3) are parts of the school curriculum that cover children from ages 7 to 14. These stages help build on what children learn during the Foundation Phase, and prepare them for the future — including their GCSEs during Key Stage 4.

What are Key Stage 2 & 3?

During Key Stage 2, learning is creative and broad, but with more structure than the Foundation Phase. Children begin to work more independently and learn skills such as researching, writing, and problem-solving.

Key Stage 3 builds on the skills from primary school and gets students ready for Key Stage 4 (KS4), where young people undertake their GCSE journey.
